Speaking at Gettysburg, Lincoln described our Great Task, “that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain. That this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom and that government of the people, by the people, and for the people shall not perish from this earth.”

Together, we must elect leaders at every level of government who put country over party, uphold their oath, and protect democracy—never placing loyalty to a single individual or ideology above the Constitution. Our Great Task is dedicated to defending our Constitution, preserving the rule of law, and ensuring that our institutions hold strong. Citizens across this country, our courts, members of the press, and those serving in our federal, state, and local governments must now act as the guardrails of our democracy.
